It turns out the state-owned land just to the west of Bayou La Batre is stunning—a square mile of coastal marsh, maritime forest and piney flatwoods according to the Outdoor Alabama web site. Jeff and I had a blast shooting night scenes on the Pointe Aux Pines Peninsula.
