Welcome to Mardi Gras in Mobile

Bon temps

The Carnival season is a celebration of excess preceding the fasting and penitence of Lent. It culminates on Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday and the start of the Lenten season.

Mardi Gras is a proud tradition in Mobile, one worth preserving through documentary photography. We relocated to Mobile in 2007 and immediately started our Mardi Gras project with the goal of documenting local history as it happens. If you see us around, you don’t need to pose or smile for us. Just be yourself. We are looking for real life. If you’ve got an interesting story you’d like us to tell, head on over to the contact page and get in touch.

Our project is a work in progress, and will be for years to come.

We plan to exhibit the work in the future.
