Paul Nguyen, the owner of Bayou Haircut, gives a trim to Tot Troung in Bayou La Batre, Ala., Wednesday, June 23, 2010. Nguyen, who has owned Bayou Haircut for seven years said that since the oil spill, business has been slow. Though their livelihoods are threatened, many of the local fishermen are contracted for BP’s Vessels of Opportunity program, which has them working seven days a week. Nguyen said he thinks they just don’t have time for haircuts, and since Nguyen’s own wife is out of work due to the oil spill, they are counting on his income. Bayou La Batre, a fishing town, near the Mississippi Sound, has been heavily impacted by the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill.
