BPSOS, Inc. sponsored the Bay Area Food Bankâs second mobile pantry distribution in response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in Bayou La Batre, Ala., Wednesday, June 23, 2010. 10,000 pounds of food was distributed to provide food for approximately 200 families in the area who have lost their jobs in the fishing-related industries of Bayou La Batre due to the ongoing oil spill. The food distributed consisted of a variety of grocery products such as canned vegetables, canned fruit, fresh produce, breads and pastries. Bayou La Batre, a fishing town, near the Mississippi Sound, has been heavily impacted by the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill.
